CRYPTOCURRENCY BTC USD markets have seemingly reversed the downward trend in value and have started to gain steam again. At the moment, Bitcoin markets are hovering around 12 650 USD (R153 667) to $12 950. Volume was decent on Saturday, as BTC markets are seeing roughly $116 billion (R1.41 trillion) in global trade while Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Tether were holding the highest trade volumes yesterday. The top exchanges swopping the most BTC this weekend include Upbeat, Bitfinex, Okex, Bithumb, and Balance. The South Korean exchange Upbeat has been trading some notable volumes over the past few weeks and has become one of the largest exchanges worldwide. Over the past few weeks, the greenback has been the top state-issued currency traded with BTC. However, this week Japan has taken the lead once again, as the yen now captures 36 percent of the global trade volume. This is followed by the greenback (32 percent), Tether (12.8 percent), the Korean won (7.5 percent), and the euro (4.9 percent). The most popular traded cryptocurrency paired with BTC on Shapeshift is still Ethereum.
